More and more solar plants are being paired with battery storage – and more and more owners find that the system looks good on paper but barely performs in practice. It does not follow prices, it fights with the inverters, the manufacturer's controller is a closed box, and nobody can tell what happened at 2 a.m.
The fault is rarely in the battery. It is almost always in the control. The Control Box is our engineering answer to this problem.

ComAp's 4th-generation hybrid microgrid controller family (InteliNeo 530 BESS, 5500, 6000); the Optimum version uses the InteliNeo 5500. Thousands of installations worldwide.
Teltonika RUT901 LTE router + AirGate
Secure, encrypted remote access through the ComAp cloud.
UPS
The controller keeps running and logging during a grid outage.
Relay bank
Breaker and aggregator commands.
Current and voltage measurement
L1–L3 CT inputs, grid and generation side.
Main I/O terminal strip
24 V, E-Stop, 8 binary inputs, 6 relay outputs, 2 CAN, RS485. Pre-wired, labelled and tested – only the external cables need to be connected on site.

Anyone can buy an InteliNeo. What makes the Control Box different is that our engineers program the control logic for your specific plant, in a freely programmable PLC layer, based on your grid connection agreement, your storage and your production profile.
- You do not get a generic factory setting, but a strategy tuned to your own plant.
- Every control action can be traced back afterwards in the log.
- If the agreement changes or the plant is extended, the logic changes – not the hardware.
When is the Control Box the right solution?
1. Adding storage to an existing plant
The Control Box also takes over the existing inverters, so the BESS comes under a single control.
2. You have storage, but it does not work properly
The Control Box replaces the closed manufacturer controller; the hardware stays, the logic is replaced.
3. Low utilisation
A new charging strategy so the battery becomes a revenue-generating asset.
4. Hybrid site with a generator
SoC-based start, minimum run time, less diesel.

For energy storage projects with a valid building permit, invoicing is subject to the Hungarian reverse-charge VAT mechanism. Delivery time: approximately 14 days from order.
The price includes: the fully equipped cabinet, the InteliNeo 5500 controller, the LTE router, the UPS, and the development of the control logic tuned to your plant.
For larger or more complex sites we offer an InteliNeo 6000-based version, and for simple storage applications an InteliNeo 530 BESS-based version, on a project basis.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work with my existing inverters?
Yes, if they support Modbus RTU/TCP or SunSpec communication – which covers the vast majority of inverters on the market.
Who commissions it?
BST's engineering team, with a factory acceptance test (FAT) and a site acceptance test (SAT).
What if the plant is extended later?
The logic changes, the cabinet stays. Expandable to 9 inverters and 8 further ComAp units.
Does it need internet?
The LTE router is built in; it can also connect to your own network via Ethernet.
